Our Parish history
The Edwardstown Catholic Parish was originally part of the Brighton Parish with the first mass being celebrated in the Edwardstown area in June 1915.
St Anthony's School was set up close to the church hall by the dedication of the Dominican Sisters.
In 2012 the Edwardstown Catholic Parish was refurbished. This has been made possible by the sale of St Maria Goretti's at Ascot Park. A small chapel in dedication to St Maria's has been incorporated into the Edwardstown Parish. The chapel provides a small and intimate space for parishioners and visitors for prayer and weekday masses.
St Anthony's School celebrates whole school masses and liturgies around feast and holy days throughout the year. Classes have the opportunity for class masses throughout the term. Fr Phillip Alstin is our Parish Priest and works with the Assistant Principal in Religious Identity and Mission (APRIM) with masses to engage in the Catholic traditions and practices.
Sacramental Program
This is offered to students when families feel they are ready to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Communion. Generally students apply from about eight years of age. This program is conducted by the Parish, with the APRIM facilitating contact if needed.
